Kathryn Anne Fitzgerald is an artist, educator, and the founder of Amara Yoga & Arts in Urbana, Illinois. With a background in Fine Arts, she holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the San Francisco Art Institute and has spent much of her career combining her love for both the arts and teaching. As an artist, her work explores themes of interconnectedness, energy, and light, with notable series such as "Bubbles & Orbs," "Buddhas," and "All One," all of which delve into the philosophical idea that we are all interconnected, and everything around us is full of energy and potential. Her art reflects the ongoing pursuit of mindfulness and the exploration of universal unity through visual forms.

In addition to her work as an artist, Kathryn is a dedicated yoga teacher. She co-founded Amara Yoga & Arts in 2009, a space that combines yoga and the visual arts. At Amara, she offers a nurturing environment where yoga practices are interwoven with art and creativity. She teaches children's yoga programs and provides workshops that encourage physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness, often through the lens of creativity and mindfulness. This unique blend of yoga and art creates a holistic approach to well-being, reflecting Kathryn’s belief in the profound connection between the body, mind, and creative expression.

Kathryn’s art practice and yoga teaching are deeply intertwined, with both exploring themes of presence, energy, and interconnectedness. Her yoga classes emphasize mindfulness, body awareness, and a connection to the creative flow of energy that also permeates her art. Whether through a yoga session or her artwork, Kathryn Anne Fitzgerald invites others to explore their own interconnectedness with the world around them.

Her personal art philosophy emphasizes that, though everything around is empty space according to science, it is in fact full of energy and light, encouraging others to embrace the idea that everything is connected and that creativity, like energy, can flow through all of us. Through her artwork, yoga practice, and educational endeavors, Kathryn strives to inspire others to discover balance, peace, and the endless possibilities of creative expression.
